Iranian Navy: We will be Present in the Gulf of Mexico
Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzandi, commander of the Navy of the Iranian Army, says its fleet will soon arrive in the Atlantic Ocean and the coasts of Gulf of Mexico.
The navy commander of the Iranian Army, however, said at a news conference on Wednesday that the time of the presence of the Navy in the Atlantic depended on "technical factors as well as the conditions of the oceans and international waters ".
"We will definitely enter the Atlantic Ocean in the near future, and will be watching the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Gulf’s coast, during our visit from countries in the South American region," the commander of the Navy said.
According to RADM Hossein Khanzadi, a missile boat will join the Navy in the Caspian Sea in the coming days.
He added that in addition to the mission of an Iranian destroyer in the Bab al-Mandeb area, two vessels are also heading to Bangladesh. According to the Navy commander of the Iranian Army, these two vessels will participate in the largest disaster relief practice of the Indian Ocean countries.
RADM Habibollah Sayari, the former Navy commander of the Iranian Army, had previously considered the presence in the Atlantic Ocean as part of I.R.I Navy plans.
